Preferred Specimen
Kidney or ureter brushing.


Instructions
  1. Kidney or ureter brushing collected by a physician using sterile technique.
  2. Submit the brush in a tube containing CytoLyt solution supplied.
  3. Label tube with two patient identifieres (full name, DOB or MR), test requested, specimen source, and date and time of collection.
  4. Forward promptly at ambient temperature only.
Notes:
  1. Specimen source and Clinical History/Diagnosis is required on request form for processing.
  2. NOCO Staff - Please send Cytology Order Requisition to Summit Pathology with specimen.

Reference Range
A pathologist’s interpretive report will be provided.
