Instructions
- Armbanded specimen is required. See Typenex Armband Instructions.
- Blood will be irradiated and split for patients less than 1 year of age.
- The volume needed (based on weight) and ordering physician are required. Also the date and time to be given if available .
- Check Cerner patient product inquiry to determine if specimen needs to be redrawn.
- Please specify if special requirements are needed.
- Crossmatching of blood takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Blood can be available uncrossmatched within 5 minutes with a consent form signed by requesting physician.
- In the event the crossmatched blood would be delayed (i.e. due to antibodies) the patients nurse or physician will be notified.
