Cytology Order - Urine - Summit Path - NOCO

Preferred Specimen
Bladder washing, catheterized or random urine specimen.


Minimum Volume
5 mL


Instructions
  1. Submit 15 mL of fresh urine in a screw-capped container with CytoLyte®.
  2. Label container (not the lid) with two patient identifiers (full name, DOB or MR), specimen source, and date and time of collection.
  3. Forward promptly at ambient temperature only.
Notes:
  1. Specimen source and clinical History/Diagnosis is required on request form for processing.
  2. If cultures are desired, also submit an unpreserved specimen in a screw-capped, sterile container.
  3. NOCO Staff - Please sendy Cytology Order Requisition to Summit Pathology with specimen.

Reference Range
A pathologist's interpretive report will be provided.
