Instructions
Serum (Metal Free) 2 mL serum from a plain navy blue-top (metal-free) tube. (0.7 mL min) 2 mL plasma from a navy blue-top (EDTA) tube (0.7 mL min). If submitting serum, allow to clot in an upright position. Centrifuge and pour carefully (do not pipette) serum/plasma into a plastic trace metal-free tube. Contact the SQL Warehouse at 602-685-5264 to obtain the metal free plastic tubes. It is also acceptable to transfer the serum/plasma into a separate navy blue-top (no additive) tube after separating from the cells. Testing will not be performed on specimens received in inappropriate tubes or containers (Lavender top (EDTA) tube or non-metal free containers).
