Message
These specimens are sent to Children’s Hospital STAT
(NCMC – notify the business office of sample, and if after hours or at MMC and BFCMC then complete the following steps)
  1. Fill out a Children’s requisition
  2. Make a copy for documentation in the patients chart (NOCO give the copy to the business office)
  3. Contact the courier for STAT pickup

E.coli (K1), Haemophilus influenzae, Listeria monocytogenes, Neisseria meningitidis, Group B Streptococcus (S.agalactiae), S.pnemonia, cytomegalovirus, enterovirus, HSV1, HSV2, HHV6, parechovirus, VZV, and Cryptococcus neoformans/gattii.

0.5 mL CSF collected in a sterile screw-capped container

CSF previously centrifuged, Shunt fluid.
