Instructions
  1. Armbanded specimen is required. See Typenex Armband Instructions.
  2. The number of units requested, ordering physician are required, and the date and time to be given if available .
  3. Check Cerner patient product inquiry to determine if specimen needs to be redrawn.
  4. Please specify if special requirements are needed.
  5. Crossmatching of blood takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Blood can be available uncrossmatched within 5 minutes with a consent form signed by requesting physician.
  6. In the event the crossmatched blood would be delayed (i.e. due to antibodies) the patients nurse or physician will be notified.
