Preferred Specimen
Plasma, Citrate Plt-Poor Two 2.7 mL filled light blue-top (3.2% Na citrate) tubes. Centrifuge without delay. Freeze immediately. Transfer only top 2/3 of plasma (plasma must be platelet free) into two plastic vials (1.0 mL minimum of plasma into each plastic vial). If other coagulation tests are ordered, freeze a minimum of three plastic vials. Place in a specimen bag with a frozen label applied.


Instructions
Follow the double spin process to produce platelet poor plasma.
