Message
Measurement of the levels of bilirubin, an organic compound formed during the normal and abnormal destruction of red blood cells, is used in the diagnosis and treatment of liver, hemolytic, hematologic, and metabolic disorders, including hepatitis and gall bladder blockage.

Instructions
Protect from light as soon as possible.


Specimen Stability
When well protected from light, bilirubin in serum is stable for up to three days refrigerated (2 - 8oC) and approximately three months when stored <=-20oC
