C-Reactive Protein

Message
Measurement of C-Reactive Protein is useful for the detection and evaluation of infection, tissue injury, inflammatory disorders, and associated diseases.  Measurements may also be useful as an aid in the identification of individuals at risk for future cardiovascular disease.

Specimen Stability
After serum/plasma is removed from the cells - 
  • 11 days when stored at room temerature (20 25oC)
  • 2 months when refrigerated (2 - 8oC)
