Cancer Antigen 125

Message
CA125 antigen levels have no proven prognostic value when used for either screenign or at time of diagnosis.  However, CA125 antigen levels do correlate with patient status after initial treatment.  The levels may be used as an aid in monitoring the response to therapy for patients with epithelial ovarian carcinoma.

2.0 mL serum collected in an orange rapid clot serum separator tube (RCT)


Specimen Stability
Store centrifuged samples tightly stoppered at room temperature 15 - 30oC for no longer than eight hours.  If the assay will not be completed within eight hours, refrigerate the samples at 2 - 8oC.  If the assay will not be completed within 48 hours, or for shipment of samples, freeze serum at -20oC or colder.
