Salicylate Level

Message
Acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and other salicylates are rapidly metabolized to salicylic acid after ingestion.  Aspirin is widely used for its analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory properties.  It is found in a number of over-the-counter and prescription mediciations, and such can be inadvertently overdosed by adults or can cause accidental poisoning in children.
