Clinical Significance
Delta/notch-like epidermal growth factor-related receptor (DNER) is a central nervous system-specific ligand for the Notch receptors expressed by cerebellar Purkinje neurons, essential for the normal development of Purkinje cells and Bergmann glia. DNER is the target of PCA-Tr antibodies associated with paraneoplastic cerebellar degeneration (PCD) in patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma.
