Patient Preparation
For fasting test, patient should fast overnight before blood collection.

Note: This test cannot be performed at a Patient Service Center because of the preparation step required for the d-Xylose solution.
4 mL blood draw 1 hour post oral ingestion of d-Xylose.
Label sample vial with patient s name and the time of collection postdose (e.g., 1 hour, etc.).
