Preferred Specimen
Draw blood in a green-top (lithium heparin) tube or a grey-top
(potassium oxalate/sodium fluoride) tube. Green-top (lithium
heparin) tube should be collected on ice. Spin specimen down
and send 1 mL of plasma.

Note: 1. Specimen should be drawn without
a tourniquet.

2. Tube must be at least half-full.

3. If green-top (lithium heparin) tube is used specimen must be
separated within 15 minutes of draw.
