Preferred Specimen
Testing should be performed within 4 hours of
draw.



Draw blood in a light blue-top (sodium citrate) tube. Spin
specimen down, remove plasma, spin plasma again, and place 1 mL
of plasma into plastic vial.

Note: Double-centrifuged specimens are
critical for accurate results as platelet contamination may cause
spurious results.
