Preferred Specimen

200 µL of cervicovaginal secretion collected using Adeza Biomedical Specimen Collection Kit. Specimen should be obtained prior to digital examination or manipulation of cervix. Do not contaminate swab or cervicovaginal secretion with lubricants, soaps, or disinfectants. Patient cannot have had intercourse in less than 24 hours of collection. Any patients with suspected or known placental abruption, placenta previa, or moderate or gross vaginal bleeding should not be tested.
