Preferred Specimen
Testing should be performed within 2 hours of draw. Draw blood in a blue-top (sodium citrate) tube. Spin specimen down and send 4 mL of plasma in plastic vial. If testing is delayed plasma should be placed in a tightly-sealing tube and may be stored frozen for up to 2 weeks.

Profile Information:
Partial Thromboplastin Time (PTT), Activated Protime or Prothrombin Time (PT)
Includes other testing (such as factor assays, inhibitor study, etc.) as deemed appropriate by consulting pathologist.
