Instructions
Both serum and spinal fluid are required for this test. Serum and spinal fluid must be obtained within 24 hours of each other.|Serum|Draw blood in a serum gel tube. Spin down and send 2 mL of serum.|Spinal fluid|3 mL of spinal fluid in a screw-capped, sterile vial. Send specimen refrigerated. Maintain sterility and forward promptly.|Note: Label specimens appropriately.|
