Clinical Significance
Overexpression of beta-catenin, a cytoplasmic signaling protein, is characteristic of neuroblastoma, in contrast to most other small round blue cell tumors. Desmoid tumors may show both nuclear and cytoplasmic expression for beta-catenin.
