Clinical Significance
Some isolates of Staphylococcus species Streptococcus Pneumoniae and beta-hemolytic Streptococci have been shown to have inducible resistance to clindamycin. Treatment of a patient with clindamycin for an organism that has inducible clindamycin resistance (D Test positive) may result in treatment failure.
