Contact Flow Cytometry (937-208-6687 or 1-800-686-2252 option 3, option2) as soon as the specimen is collected. Any specimen collected on Friday and/or the weekday prior to a Holiday must be called by 4:00 pm for appropriate arrangements to be made.

Preferred Specimen
FLUIDS: 2 mL of fluid in Sodium Heparin (dark green top) tube to prevent clotting and keep at room temperature. (minimum 2 mL)
CSF: 2 mL keep refrigerate and on ice from time of collection. MUST CALL prior to collection. (minimum 2 mL)

Instructions
Sodium Heparin gently invert 10 times.
Transport Container
Sodium Heparin (Dark Green Top Tube) to prevent clotting. May be sent in collection tube kit.

Transport Temperature
FLUIDS: Room Temperature and transport without delay.
CSF: Refrigerate and on ice. Must be in the lab within the hour of collection.

Analysis performed Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 6:00 pm and on weekends for life threatening Acute Leukemias.
Report Available
1 - 4 days: critical cases verbal communication with physcian.
Clinical Significance
To aid in the diagnosis, lineage assignment, subclassification, and the response to treatment of hematologic malignancies.
