Reference Range
Synovial fluid glucose values are equivalent to plasma values if obtained from a fasting patient.
The difference between the plasma glucose and synovial fluid glucose value should be <10 mg/dL.

Clinical Significance
The measurement of synovial glucose may be of clinical value, but abnormal levels are not an indicator for any specific disease process. Fluid levels are interpreted along with serum values.
