Instructions
Please note: This test is to be used for the screening of DONORS of human cells, tissues, and cellular and tissue-based products for infectious diseases.
Red-top tube (no gel) or EDTA (lavender-top) tube: Centrifuge and transfer serum or plasma to a clean, plastic, screw-cap vial(s), and label with sample type along with patient identifiers.
Serum or plasma separator tube: send the original collection tube, if possible. Aliquot tubes will only be accepted if processed and labeled at the original collection site.
Place the specimens for donor testing in a separate transport bag. Attach a Donor Testing label (Stock Clerk number 136296, available from Client Supplies) to the bag and ship refrigerated.
