Preferred Specimen
3 mL serum (SST, Red top or Plastic Vial (transfer) tube and 1 whole blood K2EDTA (lavender top) tube


Instructions
SST or Red top = Avoid hemolysis. Invert a minimum of 5 times, then allow to clot in an upright position for 30 minutes. Centrifuge the the tube for at least 10 minutes. Keep tightly stoppered.
K2EDTA = Avoid hemolysis.  Gently invert 10 times.

Specimen Stability
This panel includes a Sed Rate which makes the specimen stable for 24 hours Refrigerated

Rejected for gross hemolysis; over 24 hours
