Instructions
After specimen collected invert tubes multiple times, then transport tube on wet ice slurry to MVH laboratory within 30 minutes.


Transport Container
Blood Gas Collection kit - transfer specimen to Sodium Heparin (dark green top) tube or Lithium Heparin tube


Transport Temperature
Transport on ice slurry to laboratory within 2 hours.


Specimen Stability
Room Temperature = 30 minutes
Refrigerated = n/a
Frozen = n/a


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Hemolysis, Lipemia, incorrect specimen type, insufficient sample volume, improper storage conditions, exceeds specimen stability guidelines, contaminated sample.
