<8.00 mL fetal bleed
<8.00 mL fetal bleed
Clinical Significance
This test detects and quantifies the percent of fetal cells in the mother&rsquos circulation. It is used to determine dosage of Rh immune globin (Rho-GAM) required to prevent Rh sensitization of an Rh negative mother. It is also used as an aid in identifying fetal-maternal hemorrhage to evaluate possible trauma to the fetus.
Note: If the Fetal Maternal Hemorrhage by Flow Cytometry test is not available, the Kleihauer-Betke test can be performed.
