Specimen Stability
ThinPrep samples are stable 6 months at Room Temperature or Refrigerated. Samples will only be stored for 6 weeks onsite.


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Samples submitted in the wrong collection container; specimen not labeled with TWO patient identifiers; ThinPrep vial received frozen.

Clinical Significance
This test detects all 14 HPV genotypes including differentiation of genotypes 16 and 18 found to be responsible for nearly 70% of cervical cancers.
