Instructions

Centrifuge immediately for complete separation of serum and red cells. Separate and refrigerate until tested.

Within 24 hours of receipt at the performing laboratory.  Stat testing is available.

Clinical Significance
The mono test is used to determine whether infectious mononucleosis is present. This test is rapid and easy to perform, but it is not 100% accurate. More testing may be needed to confirm that the disease is mononucleosis and not another illness.
