  • Submit the Total Volume in mLs.
  • Submit Height in INCHES only (do not submit as feet and inches).
  • Submit Weight as a WHOLE NUMBER only (do not include "lbs" or any other text).

Preferred Specimen

2 containers:
1 Gold tube (gel separator)



AND
24 Hour Urine Container without preservative




Instructions
  • Mix the specimen well and measure the 24-Hour volume
  • Note the total volume in mLs.
  • Pour off 20 mL of urine into a separate plastic screw-cap container.
  • Note the patient height in inches.
  • Note the patient weight as a whole number.
  • Refrigerate if not tested immediately.


Transport Container
Urine:  Plastic screw-cap container.
Serum:  Centrifuged gold tube or serum in standard transport tube.

Refrigerate
