BD Universal Viral Transport Media for swabs ONLY.  Use the small nasopharyngeal swab - DO NOT USE the large nasal swab

Clinical Significance
Identifies 17 viruses and 4 bacteria associated with upper/lower respiratory infections using more sensitive PCR instead of culture. Aids physicians in antiviral/antibiotic selection, avoid unnecessary antibiotics, and improve infection control practices.
This panel should NOT be used as an initial or screen test for COVID-19.  Order test code CO19H.
