Message

Must collect both blue top (Na Citrate) and lavender top (EDTA).

Blue top cannot be shared with other laboratory testing at the time of draw. However, additional testing on the lavender tube may be performed once CBCBL is verified.

Pulse Measurement technology, Hydrodynamic Focusing, RF (Radio-Frequency) detection, and DC (Direct Current) detection.

Clinical Significance

This test code is used for patients with prior platelet clumping noted on the CBC. This test code should not be ordered as a routine screening CBC.
