Clinical Significance
This test is useful when evaluating patients with cancers affecting WBCs including CLL, non-Hodgkins lymphoma, multiple myeloma, or kidney disease. Increased production or destruction of WBCs causes beta2-microglobulin levels in the blood to increase.
