Message

Samples will be sent to Cordant Health Solutions daily, Monday - Friday.
Client Services can arrange for consultation if requested through Cordant Health Solutions.
Report available within 48 hours of receipt at performing laboratory.
This test is not interfaced, but report will be scanned into Epic for Epic clients.
OSHA does not consider oral fluid collection hazardous.

Instructions

Note: Ensure donor does not chew on pad, talk, or remove device from mouth until indicator turns blue or until 10 minutes has elapsed.

Saliva Collection

Peel open pad package and remove collector.
Place collector under the tongue and close mouth.
When indicator window turns blue, remove collector from mouth.
Uncap transport tube in upright position and hold tube in hand. DO NOT STAND TUBE ON TABLE.
Insert collector into the uncapped transport tube.
SNAP CAP firmly for transport.
Label transport tube according to standard procedures.

Transport saliva specimen with the completed requisition to the Central Laboratory at room temperature or refrigerated.

Specimen Stability

Collected samples should be tested within a week of collection, but are stable up to 30 days without significant loss.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

Samples not collected using the Quantisal collection device will be rejected
