Due to the possibility of cross-contamination, aliquot (transfer) specimens that have undergone automated microscopy are exempt from secondary add-on testing. If add-on testing is desired, please send an additional specimen.

Reflex microscopic exam of WBC; RBC; casts; crystals; epithelial cells; bacteria; yeast will only be performed if any of the following results are obtained:
- Glucose = >500 mg/dL
- Protein = Positive
- Blood = Positive
- Nitrite = Positive
- Leukocyte Esterase = Positive

Contaminated with feces or tissue, insufficient volume, excessive leakage in transport pouch, or non-preserved sample at room temperature.
