Report Available
Report available within 24 hours of receipt at the performing laboratory, M-Th. Samples collected on Friday will be reported by Monday.
Reference Range
The result is a percentage of each fraction of protein in the urine and includes an interpretation by a Pathologist. Formal reference ranges are not provided.
Clinical Significance
Protein electrophoresis is a well established technique routinely used to screen samples for protein abnormalities. Abnormalities may include monoclonal components, particularly Bence-Jones Protein and other urinary proteins. The test results should be used in conjunction with clinical and laboratory findings.
