Specimen Stability
  • Unpreserved urine: 2-8°C up to 24 hours
  • Preserved urine: 2-8°C up to 2 days


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
The following conditions will result in a rejection:
  • Specimens allowed to sit at room temperature
  • Specimens which have not been properly collected
  • Specimens contaminated with feces or tissue

Report Available
No growth (negative) culture will be final between 20-24 hours from initial set up.


Positive culture will be final within 50 hours of initial set up.
