Cannot accept sample collected in Gray top Boric Acid preservative for Urinalysis



Due to the possibility of cross-contamination, aliquot specimens that have undergone automated microscopy are exempt from secondary add-on testing. If add-on testing is desired, please send an additional aliquot specimen.

Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)

The following conditions will result in a rejected specimen:

  • Specimen contaminated with feces
  • Specimen contaminated with tissue
  • Insufficient volume (QNS)
  • Excessive leakage in transport pouch
