If bacterial growth occurs during the first 5 days of monitoring.

Blood and bone marrow are the only acceptable sample types. Any other sample type will be rejected.

Gel seperator tubes will be rejected

Examined once weekly for 6 weeks. Only one (1) preliminary report will be generated at first week if culture remains negative.
