Instructions

Centrifuge for complete separation of plasma or serum and red cells within 2 hours.  Aliquot (transfer) plasma into a transfer tube and refrigerate.

Male:  2.64 - 13.13 ng/mL

Female in:

  • Pre-menopausal 3.34 - 26.72 ng/mL
  • Post-menopausal 2.74 - 19.64 ng/mL


Clinical Significance
The determination of prolactin is utilized in the diagnosis of anovular cycles, amenorrhea, and gynecomastia.
