Clinical Significance
MPO is a major antigen of pANCA. Autoantibodies to MPO are associated with microscopic polyangitis, polyarteritis nodosa, churg-strauss syndrome, necrotizing and crescentic glomerulonephritis and occasionally Wegener’s granulomatosis.
