Clinical Significance
Acyclovir is commonly used in the treatment of Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV). Measurement of serum drug levels may be helpful to optimize drug dosing regimens, particularly where there is non-compliance, concern about drug interactions, pharmacokinetic variability, or suspected toxicity.
