Please note: The use of this test code applies to Outreach testing only. Results for hospital testing do not go to the Alverno patient portal.
As the clinician with a direct patient relationship, you are responsible for determining the appropriate release of information in
accordance with applicable law. Alverno is not responsible for determining whether a lab result must not be released to a patient
through the patient portal. If you determine, in your professional judgment, that a result must be temporarily withheld from a patient,
you must document this decision appropriately in your patient chart and select the code PRHAR as an orderable test. By selecting the code, you have determined that an Information Blocking exception applies to suppress the release of the patient’s results in Alverno’s patient portal, in accordance with your organization’s Information Blocking policies and procedures.
Seek legal counsel if you are not familiar with your obligations with respect to HIPAA and the Information Blocking Rules. Alverno will not be held liable for following your instructions to release or withhold test results.

- If you choose to withhold a test result, all results in that order will be withheld by Alverno due to technical infeasibility.
- Results will be held for 5 days to allow you time to contact the patient first.
- If the patient contacts Alverno for results on this order within the 5-day time frame, the patient will be directed to contact your office for results.
