Instructions
Whole blood collected in PPT or in an EDTA (lavender‐top) tube may be stored and/or transported for up to 36 hours at Room Temperature prior to plasma preparation. Centrifuge specimens at 800‐1600xg for 20 minutes at room temperature.

Clinical Significance
CMV quantitative PCR is intended for use as an aid in the management of CMV in solid organ transplant patients and in hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients. In patients receiving anti‐CMV therapy, serial DNA measurements can be used to assess viral response to treatment.
