Clinical Significance
Fluconazole is commonly used in the treatment of various typesbof fungal infections. Due to the fact it is readily soluble in water it can be administered in relatively large amounts to patients. Measurement of serum drug levels may be helpful to optimize drug dosing regimens, particularly where there is non-compliance, concern about drug interactions, pharmacokinetic variability, or suspected toxicity.
