Based on reactions presenting from Antibody Identification, then Direct Antiglobulin Test (DAT) with Reflex to Anti-C3 and Anti-IgG may be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 86880).
       
If DAT (Coombs, Direct) is positive, Anti C3d and Anti IgG will be performed at an additional charge (CPT code(s): 86880 x2)


Instructions
EDTA lavender or pink-top tube or ACD-A or ACD-B (yellow-top) tube.


Transport Container
Submit 5 mL (Min: 5 mL) whole blood tube.


Transport Temperature
Refrigerated.


Specimen Stability
Room temperature: 24 hours; Refrigerated: 7 days; Frozen: Unacceptable


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Gross hemolysis, Serum Separator tube.
