Limitations
This test was developed and its analytical performance characteristics have been determined by Quest Diagnostics. It has not been cleared or approved by FDA. This assay has been validated pursuant to the CLIA regulations and is used for clinical purposes.

Reference Range
See Laboratory Report.

Clinical Significance
This test utilizes PCR and next generation (ultra-deep) sequencing of proviral DNA to detect drug resistance mutations in the HIV-1 protease, reverse transcriptase and integrase genes. This information will assist clinicians considering a modification of the treatment regimens for virologically suppressed patients or for patients with a low viral load for whom an RNA resistance test was not successful.

Performing Laboratory
Quest Diagnostics
