Instructions
Serum separator tube or plain red.


Transport Container
Centrifuge the serum separator tube and transport. If plain red, centrifuge and aliquot 1 mL serum (Min: 0.2 mL) into a standard transport tube.


Transport Temperature
Refrigerated.

Ambient: 7 days; Refrigerated: 14 days; Frozen: 30 days

Limitations
The presence of IgM antibody to mumps typically indicates recent or current mumps infection; however, false positive results may occur due to antibody crossreactivity to parainfluenza virus.

This test was developed and its performance characteristics have been determined by Quest Diagnostics. It has not be cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA ha determined that such clearance or approval is not necesssary. Performance characteristics refer to the analytical performance of the test.
