Instructions
Lavender (EDTA) OR bone marrow (EDTA) OR tissue .


Transport Container
Whole blood: Transport 5 mL. (Min: 1 mL) OR Bone marrow: Transport 3 mL. (Min: 1 mL) OR Fresh tissue: Freeze immediately or place in RPMI. Transport 100 mg or 0.5-2.0 cm3 tissue. OR FFPE tumor tissue: Formalin fix (10 percent neutral buffered formalin) and paraffin embed tissue. Protect from excessive heat. Transport tissue block. Tissue block will be returned after testing.


Transport Temperature
Whole blood OR Bone marrow: Refrigerated. Fresh tissue: Frozen on dry ice. Tissue in RPMI or formalin fixative: Refrigerated. FFPE tumor tissue: Ambient. Ship in cooled container during summer months.

Clinical Significance
Bcl-1/JH t(11;14) is highly specific for mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The t(11;14) can be found in approximately 70% to 95% cases of MCL. Half of these translocations fall within the BCL-1 major translocation cluster (MTC). The t(11;14) Real-Time PCR assay can be used to monitor minimal residual disease in NHL.
