Note: Cytokine levels may demonstrate diurnal variation. Recommend cytokine levels be determined at the same time of day for improved longitudinal comparison.

Lavender (EDTA).


Transport Container
Centrifuge lavender immediately and transfer 1 mL plasma to a standard transport tube, (Min: 0.3 mL) and freeze immediately.


Transport Temperature
Frozen.


Specimen Stability
After separation from cells: Ambient: 4 hours; Refrigerated: 48 hours; Frozen: 1 year


Reject Criteria (Eg, hemolysis? Lipemia? Thaw/Other?)
Gross hemolysis. Gross lipemia. Gross icterus. Non-frozen specimen.
