Instructions
Pre-warm a plain red top tube to 37 C prior to collection. After collection, keep specimen at body temperature until processed.


Transport Container
Allow the specimen to clot 30 minutes at 37 C before centrifuging. Centrifuge the specimen for 10 minutes at 1600 rcf (g). Aliquot serum (Min. 3 mL) ASAP into a standard transport tube.


Transport Temperature
Refrigerated.


Specimen Stability
Note: stability is applicable only cloting at 37 C and after serum has been aliquoted:.
After separation from cells: Ambient: 8 hours; Refrigerated: 48 hours; Frozen: Acceptable for longer periods

Precipitation/Visual observation; if positive, cryo crit and Immunofixation electrophoresis
